I’m beyond thrilled to announce that as of May 2022, Digirad has officially achieved HITRUST certification.

This wasn’t just a security milestone – it was a company-wide transformation. Over the past year, we’ve completely rewritten the playbook for how IT, compliance, and operations function across the organization.

It took every department stepping up, modernizing tools, adopting new workflows, and making real changes in how we do our jobs. And we did it – together.

A New Way of Working

One of the most powerful shifts came in how we organized the work. We built the entire HITRUST initiative inside Airtable, and honestly, it was a game-changer.

We tracked:

  • Every control in the framework (yes, every single one)

  • Question/answer pairings for auditor prep

  • Testing families and periods

  • Over 3,000 individual remediation and implementation tasks

Each control was linked to relevant tickets in our helpdesk system, creating full traceability from policy to execution. It was part database, part tracker, part knowledge base – and it kept everyone aligned and accountable across dozens of simultaneous workstreams.

A Team Effort, Front to Back

While this was a group effort across the business, I want to take a moment to call out a few individuals whose work was nothing short of exceptional.

  • Patrick Struthers, our Information Security Officer –  Patrick led this project with brilliance, calm, and relentless drive. His ability to balance operational continuity with strict compliance needs is rare. Without him, this effort wouldn’t have stood a chance.

  • Kamal Govindaswamy and Brian Ching at Tueoris – Our expert advisors and partners through the HITRUST process. They helped us frame the initiative from day one and navigate the complexities with insight and confidence. They kept us one step ahead of the auditors at every turn.

  • Richard Rieben and Terry Dalby at Linford & Co. – Our assessment partners, who made the audit process not only manageable but productive. I have a long history with Linford, working with Rob Pierce back at Recondo during our SOC 2 certification. I was thrilled to work with their team again – and incredibly grateful for the professionalism and partnership.

What This Means for Digirad

HITRUST isn’t just a certificate – it’s a signal.

It tells our current and future partners that Digirad is:

  • Secure

  • Mature

  • Ready to scale

It positions us to win new contracts, build deeper integrations, and stand out as a technology-first organization in an increasingly complex healthcare landscape.

Most of all, it shows that we’re capable of transforming ourselves from the inside out – and that we’re just getting started.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible.
